Joy Prakash Sain
I am currently a Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science and Engineering at the Wright State University working at the Bioinformatics Research Group (BiRG). I am co-advised by Dr. Michael L. Raymer, and Dr. Krishnaprasad Thirunarayan. Before joining the BiRG, I was a Graduate Researcher at The Ohio Center of Excellence in Knowledge-enabled Computing (Kno.e.sis). I received my MS. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Wright State University, and B.Tech in Information Technology from the West Bengal University of Technology.
My research is focused on Natural Language Processing, Information and Knowledge Retrieval and Extraction, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning.

- In September 2020, our research paper “Identifying Depressive Symptoms from Tweets: Figurative Language Enabled Multitask Learning Framework” was accepted at COLING 2020 (To appear).
- In September 2020, I presented on “Assessing Patients’ Health States based on Social Media Posts, and Named Entity Recognition from Unstructured Text” at the International Conclave on Recent Advances in Computer Science (ICRACS 2020). Talk Website
